Professional European lighting equipment that won't break the Bank.
The Combi Range and Vedette Range take their names from the results of research into the best combination of professional quality and competitive price. These Fresnel, Plano-Convex, Profile Spots and Follow Spots, made of steel and aluminium, give optimal lighting performance and are practical to use, combining durability and easy maintenance.

Fresnel fixtures are designed to create a relatively even field of light with adjustable intensity and field size. The name comes from its Fresnel lens, which bends the diverging rays of light emitted by the bulb into a controlled beam of light with a soft edge. This lens has the same light-bending characteristics as a standard Plano-Convex lens but the convex curve is compressed into jagged steps, making it lighter and thinner so that it retains less heat. Fresnels feature a wide range of focus from around 7 to over 50 degrees making them a versatile unit for a range of stage and studio applications.

find out more ...The Plano-Covex is the simplest form of stage spotlight, where the lamp and reflector together move backwards and forwards in relation to a fixed Plano-Convex lens giving control of the beam size. As in the Fresnel model, the beam is adjustable through a wide focus range allowing the Plano-Covex to act as either a spot or flood fixture when required. In the Plano-Covex spot, the “plano” side of the lens is most commonly pebbled to give the beam its characteristic soft edge. While the Plano-Covex and Fresnel both have a soft edge beam, light from the Plano-Covex is more concentrated than with a Fresnel giving the Plano-Covex more punch particularly at narrow angles.
find out more ...Profile Spots give accurate control of beam size, shape and quality. The lamp and reflector are stationary and movement of the lenses adjusts the quality of the beam size (in zoom profiles) and can change the beam edge to the required degree of hardness or softness. The size and shape of the beam are controlled at the optical centre of the system where there is a set of four-sided shutters to provide any desired shape size with straight edges. The optical system also allows the projection of slides or Gobos.
find out more ...The follow spot is simply a spotlight used to follow an actor or other moving target around the stage and is normally a high powered Profile spot with sophisticated pan and tilt mountings to allow smooth movements. Colour filter changers, adjustable iris assemblies and black-out diaphragms are usually fitted as standard accessories. The Follow Spot should be of sufficient power, to allow its beam to “cut” through the rest of the stage lighting and create an area of focus for audience members.

Produces a uniform diffused light spread in both the vertical and horizontal plane. Ideal for lighting large areas uniformly even at close range. By placing several units side by side, an excellent colour mix can be obtained. Depending on the power of the light source, different kinds of colour filters may be used..

Very similar to the Floodlight but with asymmetric shaped reflector, it is used to illuminate a cyclorama from top to bottom and from side to side. Cyc strips are also normally positioned on the floor or in trench below floor level. The angle of the strip and its distance from the cyc are critical to achieve even lighting on the surface.
