J & S (Jackson and Storey) Research Electronics Pty Ltd formed as a niche lighting company specialising in the “new” entertainment industry
1970
This business purchased by the principal shareholders and renamed as Jands Pty Ltd
Jands manufactures 'Miniset' dimmers for Strand Electric
1973
The company through associations with early overseas touring acts and other pioneering companies breaks the structure into two companies, Jands Electronics (concentrating on product development) and Jands Hire (specialising in concert touring lighting and sound productions)
1975
Jands Electronics services its first overseas agency “Acoustic Amplifiers”
1977
Jands moves from a Marrickville factory to a larger premises at St Peters
1978
Jands establishes its own sheet metal facility
1979
Jands Hire changes its name to Jands Concert Productions identifying its position in the market
The J600S Power Amplifier released
1980
The “Horn Trademark” is registered
1981
Jands moves its facility to 578 Princes Highway, St Peters
1982
Jands Lighting becomes an entity after buyout of Rock Industries
Artist Concert Tours and JCP merge sound operations
