Jands@Home Update

Jands has just completed the final leg of Jands@Home for the calendar year, and going by the response we got we’ll be doing another round in 2010!So far we’ve been to Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, with future plans to hit these cities again in the first half of next year, and possibly even further afield. If you didn’t get along to the open days this round, make sure you keep an eye on your email in the New Year for when we may be back again with more new toys to play with!

20,000 Bees Make JBL Their Home!

The following was discovered by The P.A. People while undertaking upgrades at the Sydney Olympic Park. After the beekeeper had dispersed an estimated 20,000 bees from around a JBL-MS115 installed in the common area of the Sydney Olympic Park, this speaker revealed a very interesting sight. No longer working, on closer inspection what looked like honeycomb material, turned out to be exactly that! 40kg of honey was extracted from the speaker.

Vari*Lite & ETC Are Wicked

You probably know someone who made the trek to see Wicked in Melbourne, but now the wildly popular musical has made its way to Sydney setting up home at the Capitol Theatre. The lighting design of Wicked is the work of Kenneth Posner who won a Tony Award for his effort. Kenneth opts for a Vari*Lite rig.

CUB Malthouse is the home of the Malthouse Theatre Company renowned for its dedication to the development, production and promotion of Australian theatre. The venue had been serviced by Strand consoles that, as they aged, had started to fail and so the decision was made to purchase a new console.

JBL VerTec Masters the World Master Games

During October Sydney played host to the 2009 World Masters Games in which 25 000 people from more than 100 countries came together to compete in 28 sports at 72 venues across the city. The Opening Ceremony for the Games was held at ANZ Stadium with Jands Production Services providing the audio gear and crew.

Element At The Edinburgh Festival Fringe
