Connecting control data to all the devices in your lighting system is obviously essential. Otherwise how would you control them! However tying them all together in this way introduces the possibility that problems in one device may have adverse effects on other units connected to it via the control line. To ensure that problems are isolated to the source and don’t spread through your system optically isolated data splitters are used.
These splitters effectively break the physical connection between the data source and each of the outlets by transmitting the data “optically” between a transmitter and receiver on each circuit. Because there is no physical connection between the two, fault currents and data reflections are trapped at this point and can’t spread through the rest of the system. Hence the term “Opto isolated.”
Jands lighting consoles, dimmers and lighting control products are internationally recognised as reliable, good value, solid and dependable. Our data splitter allows for standard 5 pin XLR as well as hardwire connections of outputs, so no matter what type of wiring termination you require there is a reliable DMX splitter that will improve the integrity of your data system.
