DYNACO COMMEMORATES VENEZUELA'S INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH
VERTEC
® LINE ARRAY SYSTEM POWERED BY
JBL DRIVEPACK® TECHNOLOGY

NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, July 27, 2006 -- Corporacion Dynaco C.A., one of Venezuela's premier rental sound companies, served a 55,000-person audience on July 5 as the Latin American nation celebrated its Independence Day.   Commemorating the country's liberation from Spain in 1881 under the leadership of famous native son SimŰn BolĚvar, major public events in Caracas included a military parade and the unveiling of Venezuela's new coat of arms, with the presidents of Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay in attendance to show support for Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez. The seven-mile parade route in the nation's capitol city represented a significant sound reinforcement challenge to Dynaco, which the company met by deploying a system based on powered
JBL VERTEC® DP Series line array elements for key audience listening zones.  We selected JBL's powered VT4888DP line array systems for this event for many reasons," explained Guillermo Sanchez, Corporacion Dynaco's manager and chief engineer. "For this important production we designed a huge distributed system to serve the long parade route, which had audience listening areas 300 meters (1000 feet) deep, or more. The VERTEC DP system with its self-powered enclosures made the setup incredibly easy, compared to what we have experienced in the past in the same situation. Also, they are extremely powerful despite their relatively small size and weight. That makes them a natural for use at this type of event."

The Venezuela Independence Day event program featured a 150-person orchestra, 200-person chorus and martial band.  A total of 38 sound towers were positioned, with 12 speaker positions nearest to the presidential review area each supporting an array of three VT4888DPAN powered line array elements.  JBL VT4888 midsize and VT4887 compact line arrays systems were also incorporated into the sound system design. In all, 72 JBL VERTEC units with additional supporting loudspeakers were used.  We've now had nine months of experience with the VERTEC DP system at special events and concerts of all types," observed Sanchez. "The system has not ceased to amaze us. It's an understatement to say that JBL's VERTEC DP system exceeds our expectations for coverage, output power and fidelity."

Additional supporting JBL loudspeakers were powered with Crown I-Tech 4000 and MA-5000VZ amplifiers. Signal processing included BSS FDS 366T and 334T system controllers. BSS 966 and dbx 1066 and 1074 units were in line for equalization and limiting. Soundcraft MH3-48 and MH2-40 consoles were provided for front-of-house and stage monitor mixing facilities, with JBL SRX712M stage monitors available in the performance area.

INTERNALLY SOUND ”SAFE AT HOME” WITH
JBL PROFESSIONAL VRX SERIES FOR BASEBALL STADIUM EVENT

VRX932LA speakers used for Christian event held at Legends Field in Tampa, FL

NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, June 30, 2005 — In a unique application that demonstrates the versatility and power of the JBL VRX portable line array series, Internally Sound of Milan, TN recently supplied a full audio system for “Safe At Home,” a Christian evangelical event held at Legends Field in Tampa, FL. Hosted by the Scott Dawson Evangelistic Association on April 24, 2005, “Safe at Home” immediately followed a Tampa Yankees minor league baseball game, making quick setup of the PA system crucial to the success of the event.

To expedite the setup process, co-owners Phil and Mark Jenkins of Internally Sound arranged eight mobile carts, each containing two JBL VRX932LA speakers set on top of a single SRX728 dual 18" Subwoofer.  “Having a normal stage setup doesn’t quite work with this type of setting, because our goal is to have the audio immediately up and running before the people in the stands are out of the stadium,” Phil Jenkins said.

In addition to the custom-made carts, Internally Sound also specially designed a one-piece stage that quickly unfolds. This was the company’s fourth Safe At Home event, and the combination of versatile technology and ingenuity has dramatically reduced the setup with each successive production. “We did our first Safe At Home before we purchased the VRX system, and we had everything ready to go in about 20 minutes,” Phil added. “This time, the stage was set in six minutes, but we had everything in place with music playing and the minister speaking over the PA in two minutes and 20 seconds. The baseball players had to dodge us!”

Ideal for smaller environments requiring line array performance without the long-throw characteristics of larger systems, the VRX932LA is a compact 12-inch, two-way line array loudspeaker designed for use in arrays of up to six units. Each speaker has a 15-degree (nominal) vertical coverage angle. This enables small arrays consisting of 2 or 3 speakers, or even a single enclosure, to provide practical vertical coverage in many situations.

FARBER SOUND HELPS LIFETOUCH CELEBRATE 70TH ANNIVERSARY WITH JBL PROFESSIONAL VERTEC® CONCERT SOUND SYSTEM

NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, August 31, 2006 — Demonstrating the ability of JBL Professional loudspeakers to provide a complete live audio solution through its various product lines, Farber Sound of Medina, MN recently supplied a concert sound system including various JBL loudspeakers for the 70th Anniversary celebration of Lifetouch, the largest employee-owned photography company in the world.

Held on July 27 at Lifetouch’s corporate headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN, the outdoor celebration featured performances by the legendary Little Anthony and the Imperials and country artist Craig Morgan. With a crowd in excess of 5,000, owner Dave Farber of Farber Sound deployed a comprehensive audio package from his rental inventory including loudspeakers from JBL’s VERTEC, VRX and SRX Series product lines.

The audio system featured eight VERTEC VT4888 midsize line array elements on each side of the stage, with four VRX932LA loudspeakers on stage providing front fill. Additionally, 16 SRX728S subwoofers were placed under the stage for very-low frequency support, including added reinforcement during the fireworks finale. The system was powered by Crown I-Tech amplifiers.

According to Farber, JBL’s VERTEC and VRX loudspeaker lines have proven to be a natural fit for many of his live sound projects. “The VRX932LA is a really nice complement to VERTEC in that it can be utilized in so many ways,” he said. “We’ve used VRX932LA’s as front fills as with the Lifetouch event, but we’ve also applied these loudspeakers in small to mid-size theatres as the main left-right system.”

TOPANGA DAYS FESTIVAL CONTINUES TO EVOLVE WITH THE TIMES USING JBL PROFESSIONAL’S VRX932LA PORTABLE LINE ARRAY

Colin Hay with Cecilia Noel and the Wild Clams.

The Memorial Day weekend benefit for the Topanga Community House included artists John McEuen, Colin Hay and Cecilia Noel and the Wild Clams.

NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, July 22, 2005— In an event showcasing the power and versatility of JBL Professional’s VRX portable line array speakers, the Community House in Topanga Canyon, California recently hosted the 32nd Annual Topanga Days festival, featuring a diverse array of musical talent. Held over Memorial Day weekend, the festival has celebrated the diversity of the Topanga community annually since 1973.

The festival centers around its live musical performances, which this year included John McEuen of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band fame, Colin Hay (former lead singer of Men At Work), and Cecilia Noel and the Wild Clams. With a crowd of more than 7,000 over the three days of the festival, the Topanga Mountain Stage required a considerably larger and more powerful sound system than in past years. The system and mixing services were provided by FGS Intergalactic Cartel and Holding Company, the humorous moniker of a number of audio industry veterans who annually volunteer their services.

The system was comprised of JBL VRX932LA portable line array speakers, with SRX718S subwoofers and SRX712M stage monitors. The rig also consisted of Crown amplifiers and Soundcraft mixers with Lexicon and dbx signal processing. The VRX932LA is a compact 12-inch, two-way line array loudspeaker designed for use in arrays of up to six units. Each speaker has a 15-degree (nominal) vertical coverage angle, allowing for a single enclosure or arrays consisting of 2 or 3 speakers to provide practical vertical coverage. At Topanga Days, 2 VRX array modules were pole-mounted over two subwoofers on each side of the stage.

“The Topanga Days festival has been a favourite attraction in the Los Angeles community for years, and it only makes sense that such a diverse collection of artists be provided with a leading-edge sound system,” said Mark Gander, JBL Professional’s VP of Marketing, Topanga resident and one of the volunteer principals of FGS. “Thanks to the portability of the VRX system, we were able to quickly and easily provide high-quality audio for three days of performances.”
