Warranty Against Defects

Thank you for choosing this product. We take pride in our products and offer to consumers who purchase our products the following warranty. We request that you complete and return the enclosed warranty card to us within 30 days of purchase. Failure to return a fully complete warranty card may invalidate your warranty.

This Warranty against Defects is provided in addition to other rights and remedies that you may have at law.

The Warranty

Subject to ‘Exclusions and Limitations’ as set out below, we warrant to you that if you are a consumer who purchases products within Australia, from us or one of our authorised dealers, that they will not contain defects which are a result of faulty manufacturer workmanship or materials. This warranty subsists for the period listed below from the date of purchase and covers the following brands. 

The warranty applies to the purchaser of the product and any person whom the title to, or property in the product is transferred during the warranty period. For the avoidance of doubt, the warranty subsists for the listed period from the date of purchase irrespective of whether the title or property in the product is transferred to another person.

Exclusions And Limitations

No Warranty against Defects is offered and we will not be liable for defects which are a result of:

  • damage of loss caused by factors beyond our control;
  • any product which has not been maintained according to the owner’s manual or any care or maintenance instructions provided with the product;
  • any alterations or repairs to the product which are not performed by us;
  • any and all shipping costs associated with returning the product to us pursuant to this warranty;
  • damage or loss to the product caused whilst the product is shipped or delivered to or from us or the Jands Authorised Service Centre;
  • damage or defects caused to the product due to unusual or non-recommended use of the product;
  • parts or components not manufactured or supplied by us;
  • any service costs in connection with normal or regular maintenance of the product;
  • any damage or loss caused by dirt, abrasions, moisture, rust, corrosion or other similar conditions;
  • any damage or loss arising from electromagnetic or electrical interferences, deficiency, excess or surge of electrical supply, air conditioning or humidity; and
  • any damage or loss resulting from the use of incorrect mains voltage as detailed on the product or in the owner’s manual or care instructions.

We will not be liable for any special, indirect, consequential or economic loss or damage or loss of profits (in contract or tort or arising from any other cause of action) suffered by you or any other person resulting from any act or omission by us.

Total Liability

Our total liability in respect of this Warranty against Defects is limited, at our option to,

  • the replacement of the goods; or
  • the repair of the goods.

Making A Claim

Any claim made under this warranty must be made by contacting us, either by telephone or by post, within the 2 year period from the date of purchase and providing us with details of the defect and evidence of purchase.

We will provide you with the details of the nearest Jands Authorised Warranty Service Centre. When making a claim under this warranty you are required (at your expense) to return the product to the Jands Authorised Warranty Service Centre and to collect it. When the product is delivered to the Jands Authorised Warranty Service Centre you are required to provide us with proof of purchase which details the purchase date and product serial number.

Upon delivery to the Jands Authorised Warranty Service Centre Jands will organise for the product to be assessed to determine if the fault or problem is covered by this warranty. Jands will advise you by telephone, email or in writing whether the fault is covered by this warranty. Any and all faults covered by this warranty will be scheduled and undertaken within a reasonable period of time, depending upon the availability of replacement parts, components and appropriate persons to undertake the work.

Statutory Guarantees

This Warranty against Defects is provided in addition to other rights and remedies that you have at law.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Products Purchased Prior To January 1, 2012

Warranty

  • Primarily warranty covers defects in the product due to faulty materials or workmanship as long as the product is being used for its intended purpose.
  • Items returned to Jands for repair shall be at the risk of the owner whilst in transit (to and from Jands).
  • Freight charges must be prepaid.
  • Once verified by Jands service department or a Jands service agent, out of box failures* will be replaced by new product. Subject to availability (may be equivalent product).
  • Repair work on items less than 5 years old in good condition guaranteed for 90 days warranty.
  • Repair work on items over 5 years old or in poor condition for 30 days warranty.

Non Warranty

  • Fuse replacement—where the fuse is accessible from outside, the repair is not covered by warranty.
  • Repairs which need to be made to any product due to abuse, dirt, negligence or moisture will not be covered by warranty.
  • Burnt speakers, crossovers or diaphragms are NEVER covered by warranty.
  • Warranty is voided if someone other than Jands technicians or an authorised service agent opens or attempts repair of the product.
  • There is no warranty on cross-faders, phono/line switches, styli, leads and other items subject to wear and tear unless stamped as “out of box” failure*. (*Out of Box Failure is where the product has failed on first turn on or soon after.)

Definitions

(A):  Includes microphones, if the product fails in the first three (3) years for whatever reason, other than malicious damage, we will repair or replace the product at Jands expense.

(B):  Out of box failures are accommodated by fourteen (14) days coverage for these parts.

(C):  No warranty on software.

Crown:  Amplifiers are warranted such that if the amplifier fails within the first three (3) years, for whatever reason, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge. Also covers IQ and microphones, except Sound Grabber, which is one (1) year.

Stanton:  Unless otherwise stated there is no warranty on switches, faders, leads or stylii, however, failures within fourteen (14) days of purchase will be inspected and warranty determined on case-by-case basis.

VARI*LITE®:  As these are considered high maintenance fixtures any damage caused by lack of maintenance is not covered under warranty. Items not covered by warranty include glass, screw, washer, reflectors.

JBL:  Five (5) years for speakers and compression drivers covers manufacturing faults. Burnt voice coils are never covered by warranty. Any questionable failures should be returned to Jands Pty Ltd.

Shure:  Earpieces, which have not been cleaned, are not covered by warranty. Shure two (2) year warranty is specific to the date of manufacture as determined by the serial number or date code printed on the product.

All:  Lack of maintenance on the owner’s behalf voids warranty.
